I’m trying to mask a part of a circle with a mask. I’d like to using as mask a path, but if put inside the mask level the path fills of black, nothing happens.

I think we need to see a *.afdesign file, or at least some screenshots.

If you want to use the black path to mask (cover/erase) the parts of the egg that are covered you could just set the layer blend mode to erase.

Thanks Alfred and thanks DM1, really two very interesting possibilities of which I hope to treasure.  However, my request related to the possibility of creating an own layer mask using a vector part.  you have any ideas to suggest.  Thank you.

There was an earlier thread with question about vector mask... maybe this helps.

Thank you very much. Yes it is, but I didn’t understand how do it. Could you please make me a short recapitulation ad usum delpfini?

As I interpret it, masking with vector on vector works like clipping. See Alfreds example where the rectangular shape contains the coloured eggs.

To mask (hide) part of a vector with another vector you need to set the ‘masking' vector to erase and nest it. See my example.

To mask a vector with a Mask layer, similar to pixel mask, where mask hides part of an image you can apply a mask layer to a vector layer but you need to switch to pixel studio to paint on the mask. So it’s not really vector anymore?
