Josie
And how do I know that they have been merged?
Alfred
You only need to select two (or more) layers if you’re using the ‘Merge Selected’ option. ‘Merge Down’ merges down from a single selected layer, and ‘Merge Visible’ doesn’t require any layers to be selected. The latter option leaves the original layers available, with the merged version as a new layer on top, but the other two options are destructive. In all cases you can see the result in the Layers panel. To select multiple layers, tap on one layer in the Layers panel and then swipe from left to right over the additional layers. Alternatively, one-finger tap on the first layer of a contiguous sequence and then two-finger tap on the last layer. Alfred
Pick one (perhaps one of the simpler coffee ones) and start working on it. If you take on too much all at once you’ll just get overwhelmed. Alfred
There are numerous sources of images which are free for commercial use. Morguefile, Pixabay and Unsplash spring to mind, but there are very many more. I don’t understand your “Nobody has told me” comment. What about @DM1’s post here, to cite just one example?
