walt.farrell Posted April 27, 2019 Share Posted April 27, 2019 Are you asling why Layer > New Adjustment Layer isn't structured like the Layer Effects? If so, note that the Layer Effects don't create new layers; they're a single set of adjustments applied to the currently active layer. And as a single set of adjustments it seems appropriate to me that they're grouped together. On the other hand, the Adjustments Panel (only in Photo) is structured more like the Layer Effects, though it also creates new layers. But if you were talking about Layer > New Adjustment Layer perhaps the behavior of the Adjustments Panel would be more to your liking, when using Photo? (Of course, in both Photo and Designer we also have the Effects Panel, which is another way of displaying the layer effects adjustments.) What I suggest is they to be like the "Layers Effects" in one window. But in either case, as I mentioned there is a distinction, because the Layer Effects are not creating separate layers. They create one set of effects applied to a selected layer, not multiple sets of adjustments applied as separate layers. That difference in function, to me, justifies the difference in behavior. One set of effects, one panel. Separate adjustment layers, separate panels.
