[Half-Fixed] No guide indicators in rulers on guide creation

Recommended Posts

Guide indicators in ruler don't show when the guide is first created but do show when guide is released and then moved again, see steps below to reproduce the issue. (reported here by TomHu)

  1. Select the Move tool
  2. Drag a guide out and as you will see no indicator in the ruler
  3. Release the guide
  4. Now move that same guide again, the guide now extends into the ruler area.

I'd say this isn't by design, but a bug.

Another point, when dragging a guide out initially, there is no numerical reference, when the guide is released and then moved again the numerical reference is displayed. On guide creation as soon as the guide hits the document canvas it should start displaying a numerical reference.

Hi @firstdefence

Thanks for logging this.

We have added numerical reference when you first drag the guide, so technically, now, there is no need to have the mark up in the ruler. The numerical value is way more accurate than a line in the ruler.

Just checked Mac Affinity Designer βeta and the guides extend into the rulers and the numerical reference is there but if you update to Affinity Designer βeta the numerical reference is there but the guides don't extend into the rulers anymore?
