tkserver
Just bought Afinity Photo Desktop Mac in hopes of moving from photoshop completely. One activity I do a ton of is exporting for web. I'll process a large photo then use a macro to scale the image down to a specific size, then export as a JPG or PNG to a specific folder. When I start recording a macro, then select export from the file menu, I get an error message which says Macro Recorder cannot record "Export item" Is it possible to record resizing and exporting with the macros? If not, that could be a deal breaker.
Dan C
Hi tkserver, Welcome to the forums Unfortunately it isn't possible to record Exporting in a macro, however you can create your macro then use Batch Processing to apply the macro to multiple files and export them all in one step. You can find out more about this from the videos below! Patrick Connor

Resizing and exporting can be done automatically with File > New Batch Job without the need for a macro. In the case of exporting to JPG files you can also set the quality/compression you want in the exported files The batch job function is useful if working with many files that all need the same output settings but if working on individual images one at a time it's not so useful or efficient. In those cases a macro would be better but as you have discovered you cant (at the moment) use any export commands in a macro Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum.
