Yesterday and today, I placed several jpg's in a document in v293 without problem.

I found that:

  • When using File > Place or the "Place Image Tool" button with MacOs 10.11.6 --> Crash with PDF (ok with jpg)
  • When using File > Place or the "Place Image Tool" button with MacOs 10.14.4 --> no problem (jpg and PDF)

I tried to place a Designer file, also crashed every time...

I have placed several jpegs, .aphoto and .afdesign files perfectly with v. 293,  using both the Place Image tool and the File>Place route.    No crashes.   The only thing that happened is that Publisher asked me if I would like to Link the files, since there was lots of data.   I clicked no, and the placement was still perfect.

I have also placed a PDF document, using File>Place without incident.  Didn't try the Place Image tool, but I am sure that works too.

 I am on MAC Sierra.

I just tried placing a jpeg, a pdf, an APub doc, an APhoto doc ... all without issue. Created a new doc and placed all items, linked. Saved. No issues. Same as reported earlier working with an actual APub document created in an earlier version but updated in 293. Obviously there is something else happening to create issues for some.

Sorry that this regression has been introduced in build 293. We are working on a solution.
