My understanding is that the trial version is the actual software but limited time. Is it not?

When I try to quit it says you must commit or cancel development mode (which I have no idea how it even started there or why). I click Cancel, and it tells me I will loose all of my edits. Ok fine. But when I try to quite the app I still get the same messages. I'm in a loop, or was. I had to use Macs Force quite to get out of it.

Not looking good. I guess I've used Lightroom too long to try to save a buck or two.

It starts in the Develop persona if you open a RAW format file (.nef, cr2, etc.). If you want to discard any edits you make before developing the file, click the Cancel button in the upper left side of the context toolbar (next to the large blue "Develop" one). You should get this message asking for confirmation:

Click the "Yes" button to cancel the develop. You should now be able to quit the app normally.

It you have made edits then the App is going to ask you if you want to save before exiting. Most Apps do this. If other changes are made to the file it can also ask if you want to save.) for instance in designer, if you export in different formats it will also ask if you want to save changes even though you might have made no edits

I think this is expected behaviour?
