LIne around pictures

Recommended Posts

I am busy trying to move some PPX 9 stuff into Affinity and so far there are so many similarities that I have not hit anything major until now. I am sure there is a simple solution which I have totally missed.

I have text on a page. I want to put a picture on the same page and have found the flow mechanism. What I really need is an outline for the picture and I cannot find out how that is done and the help files are not helpful in this respect.

Can somebody please point me in the right directoion? The pictures start at about Page 13 of the attached document.

As far as the text flow is concerned it would be easier if a tab from each edge caused the selection of the next edge - just like in PPX 9 - not a real biggie but just a little annoying

I am not sure if you want this -> Select layer in Layer Panel. Menu -> Layer -> Layer Effects -> Outline

The document I am working on has over 50 drawings. Doing as you suggest means over 50 additional actions and increases the workload substantially. Any changes to the text and the effect on flow around the drawings, together with the amendment needing movement of the picture means multiple changes further down the document.

Everyone has his / her own workflow. My first steps are setting up the document, colours, styles and if I need repeating things I am working with assets. So before placing the images I create e.g. a picture frame with all the needed settings (stroke, text wrap etc.) and move it to assets. So I can easily use defined objects. Maybe one day we will have object styles which makes formatting easier.
