ChrisP
I was just playing around with some layers to make a flame. I exported as a PDF and when I enlarge, it's pixelated. Any ideas? I'm using Preview to view. I've attached the PDF and AD file. Flame.pdf Flame.afdesign
Staff MEB Posted April 26, 2015 Staff Share Posted April 26, 2015 Hi ChrisP, That's because you're using effects in some of your objects. All Effects will be rasterised on export. Since the object using effects cover the whole area of your drawing, you're also seeing some clipping effects on its boundaries. I believe this could be improved a little but only MattP or other dev. can give you a definitive answer. ChrisP
Thanks for the fast response MEB. Ok, I understand. One thing thou, I recreated the same flame in AI using same layers and effects but the PDF is not pixelated. It's crisp. Any work around in AD to get crisp PDF, other than saving at 2x or 3x size? Staff MEB Posted April 26, 2015 Staff Share Posted April 26, 2015 As far as i know there's nothing you can do other than exporting at a bigger size and downsampling. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
ChrisP
Thanks MEB. I was just playing around some more and added a very thin stroke (0.4) around my base layer and that seemed to work pretty well.
