almac01 Posted April 16, 2019 Posted April 16, 2019 I've just upgraded to 1.7.0.283 and finding it a lot more useful. Is there an option to show hidden characters like word spaces and paragraph ends in text? Also is it possible to have no indent on first paragraph then a set amount (6mm) of indent on remaining paragraphs? Quote
Joachim_L Posted April 16, 2019 Posted April 16, 2019 1) Menu "Text" "Show Special Characters". 2) Normally I would do this with paragraph styles chaining them, but this works only as long you are typing text (which is seldom the case). On already copied text this has no effect, but maybe I am doing something wrong? If this is not possible, maybe a suggestion for a future version? Might be nice to have some automation in styles (I formerly mentioned successive styles and if-then statement autostyles), but generally this is always done with separate styles like body-1 and body-all :-) Quote

The OP wanted the first paragraph (not line) not to be indented at all, and subsequent paragraphs to be indented normally. fde101 1 Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. CatLady Posted May 21, 2019 Posted May 21, 2019 I'm voting for "Show hidden characters" too! Quote Sharon

richardtomkins Posted July 3, 2019 Posted July 3, 2019 Yikes, I can barely see the SPECIAL CHARACTERS. They are so DIM. A nice Dark Colour and shown in BOLD would be good. Quote

I notice that, too. Maybe they made the special characters very small to avoid distorting the view of the layout. But wecould use more contrast in the characters. Quote Sharon

Well, I , there is a Zoom "to selection" that will enlarge the selected item to fill the width. That helps. I hope they take the hint and make us able to configure the Special Characters, soon! cramosm Posted May 31, 2020 Posted May 31, 2020 (edited) Text --> Show Special Characters ---- Great! I also needed to learn this. But my point is: why not call them "hidden characters" which is the way everybody knows them? Thanks Edited May 31, 2020 by cramosm Quote
