Convert Layers to Embedded Document

Recommended Posts

Hello, is there a feature that allows us to convert layers to embedded documents (ED) or preserve embedded documents when they are warped or perspective tool is used on them? I'm trying to use the place tool to add embedded documents to mockups but my workflow has been stressful and heavily slowed by the rasterizing of the ED after it's distorted. Please help :(. Is there any workaround?

You could Place the document, then Duplicate that layer and hide it.

Or you could Place the document and take a Snapshot using the Snapshot panel (View > Studio > Snapshot). If something goes wrong with the warping, just restore to the saved snapshot. But that's very similar to backing up in the History (though easier to handle in some ways), and as I don't understand how the rasterization is stressing you I'm not sure if that will help or not.
