Quidnunc
I couldn't open Affinity as was advised the previous Beta was superseded. Downloaded the latest and greatest which uninstalled the old version, then I get install failed warnings with the new version. Am I alone?
Rick G
Noooooooooo. There is a great community of us. Being fair ... they had it fixed in the last beta and this beta is a regression Affinity Designer 2.2.2075 & beta 2.3.1.2212 Affinity Photo 2.2.2075 beta 2.3.1.2212Affinity Publisher 2.2.2075 & beta 2.3.1.2212 Windows 11 Pro Version 22H2 OS build 22621.1928 Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10700 CPU @ 2.90GHz 2.90 GHz Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.7 GB usable) System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Aammppaa
Try installing it again - several times if necessary. In my experience it always works eventually. For example I downloaded and installed the three 1.7.0.293 Betas yesterday… Publisher failed 1st try, succeeded on the 2nd. Designer failed on the 1st and 2nd attempts, succeeded on the 3rd. Photo installed 1st try. This type of behaviour has happened for me since ~1.6.5 If the install fails, I simply run it again straight away - no reboot, no shutting other applications. You can look at the log files in Temp / Affinity Setup and search for the word Error to see why the installation failed. For me it is always "Error writing to file: C:\Config.Msi\d27bf3c.rbf. Verify that you have access to that directory." Of course your experience my vary.
