Try installing it again - several times if necessary.

In my experience it always works eventually.

For example I downloaded and installed the three 1.7.0.293 Betas yesterday…

  • Publisher failed 1st try, succeeded on the 2nd.
  • Designer failed on the 1st and 2nd attempts, succeeded on the 3rd.
  • Photo installed 1st try.

This type of behaviour has happened for me since ~1.6.5

If the install fails, I simply run it again straight away - no reboot, no shutting other applications.

You can look at the log files in Temp / Affinity Setup and search for the word Error to see why the installation failed.

For me it is always "Error writing to file: C:\Config.Msi\d27bf3c.rbf.   Verify that you have access to that directory."

Of course your experience my vary.

It can help to reboot your PC, and sometimes it will help to right-click on the installer .exe and choose Run as Administrator.

@Rick G try to run it as admin:

+Error: The installer has insufficient privileges to access this directory: C:\Program Files\Affinity\Publisher Public Beta.  The installation cannot continue.  Log on as administrator or contact your system administrator.
