Gilescooperuk
Pretty much as the subject says - OSX 10.14.4 AP version 1.70.292 OSX Mail running in Dark Mode Paste from email and affinity produces a block of white text, obviously the email wasn't written in white but it would be more useful if it took the original HTML rather than the displayed code... Strange one...
walt.farrell
Strange, indeed. Have you tried Paste Without Formatting, or Paste Special..., to see if either of them helps? Gilescooperuk
Paste without formatting does work, but it doesn't help when the email is already formatted as you want to put it in the page.... (i.e. bold, italic etc)

Old Bruce
can you switch Mail to 'normal' mode to copy the text? Quote Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.4 Affinity Designer 2.4.0 | Affinity Photo 2.4.0 | Affinity Publisher 2.4.0 | Beta versions as they appear. I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
Gilescooperuk
Hmm just quickly tried in a new document and it appears to work - looks like my machine had a strange problem as I can't reproduce it! Definitely doing it before...

Gilescooperuk
I just reproduced it you can see in the video - I selected the text in the email Switched to affinity did a paste - got white text then selected the text and changed it to black Doesn't do it everytime though Screen_Recording_2019-04-27_at_22_19_32.mov
Staff Gabe Posted April 29, 2019 Staff Share Posted April 29, 2019 This seems to be a MacOS issue, and not an Affinity issue. https://eclecticlight.co/2018/12/06/textedit-1-14-not-the-dark-mode-youd-expect/ TLDR The text is copied with that format - as white text. You would need to paste it without format
