Help!! Layer Effects

How do I add more than one shadow (effect) to the same layer? 

For example, adding two different shadow effects to the same object?

You can select multiple fx's per object. But to have the same effect (with different  Settings), I suspect would require duplicate layers and use of layer blending options.

I'm trying to create steps 5 to 8 using affinity (photo or designer)

This thread had a discussion on curved gradients which is similar to your icon. Generally speaking I suspect you'll need to play with effects studio. Change colour wheel to RGB slider to select colours. Try 3D Effect first. The deep shadow effect just draw a line with curve each end and use stroke studio to taper both ends. Use effects studio to add Gaussian blur to the line. Colour studio to get right shade.
