No InpaintingTool In Free Trial?

Recommended Posts

Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums, @karenrowephoto. :)

The trial version is strictly time-limited but otherwise fully functional. The Inpainting Brush Tool is (rather unfortunately, in my opinion) somewhat hidden, since it’s in the toolbar group where the Healing Brush Tool is displayed by default: click on the tiny white triangle at the bottom right-hand corner of the Healing Brush icon to display the flyout where the Inpainting Brush and other related tools reside.

Hi karenrowephoto,

Welcome to the forums :)

The free trial is the full Affinity Application, limited to 10 days of usage, so no tools are missing.

I'm sorry to hear you can't find the inpainting tool, it should be on the left hand toolbar.

If you can't see the toolbar, try the following:

1.View>Show Tools

2.View>Dock Tools

3. The app UI may be hidden, to restore this press the TAB key.

If you can see the toolbar but not the icon, try the following:

1. Locate the Healing Brush Tool (bandaid/plaster icon) with the white triangle next to it, clicking this will open the flyout which contains the Inpainting tool.

2. View>Customise Tools. From here you can drag the inpainting brush back onto the toolbar, or alternatively reset the toolbar using the reset button at the bottom of the customisation panel.

I hope this helps! :)

And...  make sure that you have the trial version of Affinity Photo, not Affinity Designer. The inpainting tool only shows up in Photo.

Hi @karenrowephoto

Yes I am. Still use LR 6.14. Used the Photographer Bundle for a little over a year, until they done away with any further perpetual LR license. I am able to send an image from LR to Affinity Photo for finishing up, and after saving it appears in LR.

  • 9 months later...

Hello, I too am on a trial version of photo, I cannot locate any healing brushes or bandaid or inprinting? Even on search and when I opened all tools, it was not to be found? Is it only on the paid version? I just wanted to try all the tools to compare to photoshop, which I have given up on completely.

thank you for any assistance you can provide.

Hi MdmMTL,
Welcome to Affinity Forums :)
The application shown above in your screenshots is Affinity Designer, not Affinity Photo. The trial has the exact same functionality as the paid version - the only limitation is the 10 day time limit (counted sequentially from the first run).
