No highlighting of the selected text

Recommended Posts

If I try to select a portion of the text, there are no visual markers which typically are inverted text/background colors. The selection still works, it is just not visible on the screen.

Problems with all fonts, and even seems to work the same in the AP Beta. Quick snippet of it:

I'm not getting that here and I'd guess other users aren't. I'm on Windows 7. But that facility could be useful - it means you can see what different fonts look like without having a block background to the text. I wonder if there's an option somewhere that I've missed.

Hi @Fantomasas,

Can you please confirm if this is a beta-only issue? Does the 1.6 release work fine with the same fonts?

Thanks,

Gabe.

AD 1.6 does not have the issue. I have refined conditions for this problem to occur:

• Any font

• Outside of the art-board

• Close-up

Interesting find. I can confirm this after a short test. The same happens in APub.

Seems to work fine for me on Designer 1.7.

Even when you zoom in beyond 800%?

Actually, no. Above 427% the highlighting disappears when the text is not inside the artboard.

Yes, it was not exactly 800% but something in this region. It most likely depends on document size and perhaps resolution. But it disappears at a certain zoom level.

For a test to see if the highlighting is still there, though not visible, I typed in a single letter. That one replaced multiple highlighted letters. This, to me, seems to proof that the highlighting is still there, but just not visible. A change of letter colour does the same :-)

=After further investigations, it is not actually zoom-related, but Artboard related. If the artboard is preset in the viewport, the selection appears. If you have no artboard in the viewport, it does not show. I will log this with our developers.

After your explanation I can confirm this. The zooming causes the artboard to drift out of sight at some point.
