musicfed
sorry for the basic question but I have drawn a few straight lines. how do I move them without transforming them? also is there a way to space parallel lines evenly? I need to build a chord chart page so I need to make sure all lines are equally spaced thanks! Fed

Well, moving them is transforming them but I presume you mean you don’t want to change their length or orientation. What generally seems to do the trick is to make sure the object isn’t selected before you try to move it. Quote also is there a way to space parallel lines evenly? If you duplicate a line and move the duplicate, subsequent ‘Duplicate’ commands will give you further copies each of which is the same distance from the previous one. musicfed
thanks Alfred. it's just that moving with the iPad is a bit tricky. learning bit by bit.... also the spacing options aren't always doing what I would like but it's ok!

What would you like the spacing options to do, and what do you tend to find they actually do? well I would like them to give me options to space/distribute vs specific items. say I have a rectangle or square shape, and I add some parallel lines within that square, I would like to be able to space the lines taking the boundaries of that square into account... sorry not sure I explained it too well... Group the parallel lines so that they don’t move relative to each other. Lock the rectangle, select the locked rectangle and the grouped lines in the Layers Studio and then go to the Transform Studio and choose whatever alignment options you want. musicfed
will try this now thanks! I am on the fence for buying Designer for Mac, after having AP for mac/iPad and Designer for iPad (all of whichk I like every day more) I have to say there are quite a few extra functions of A.Photo mac vs Ipad but sometimes you just can't beat the immediacy of using the iPad..
