[By Design]Liquify problem with transparent background - Beta 1.7.0.116

Recommended Posts

I've noticed a problem when using the liquify tool on images with transparent background (video attached)

To recreate the problem:

1 - Create a new image with transparent canvas

2- Draw something on a new layer

3-Liquify it, making sure the visible grid during liquify is smaller that the canvas size

4-Clip canvas

It fails to upload correctly. Can you upload it on our dropbox account? https://www.dropbox.com/request/FZJnmjx08jZujvwWK4HL

The video has compressed codec H245. Can that be the issue?  To me it works perfectly. I'll upload to dropbox the original and a converted version.

On Sierra and Safari I just get a duration of 0:00 for start and end times.

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.4
Affinity Designer 2.4.0 | Affinity Photo 2.4.0 | Affinity Publisher 2.4.0 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

Update:

Our developers closed this issue as by design - even though it looks weird.

Clip canvas is non-destructive and all filters (including Liquify) only apply to the visible area.
