AndyFriend Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 I've been a Serif user of PagePlus, PhotoPlus and DrawPlus for many years (seems like forever, certainly more than 15yrs). I'm currently using 64bit Win 7 Pro SP1 with PagePlus X9, PhotoPlus X8 and DrawPlus X8 and have a lot of work in those formats. I'm about to change to Windows 10 and have also been looking at the Affinity products now that the Plus products are no longer being developed. Can you tell me please: Will the Affinity products work satisfactorily on my current Windows 7? Will my Current Plus products work under Windows 10? Can I import my PagePlus, PhotoPlus and DrawPlus work directly into the equivalent Affinity product? My DrawPlus work is mostly schematics and flow charts. Thanks Quote
emmrecs01 Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 Welcome to the Affinity forums. 26 minutes ago, AndyFriend said: Will the Affinity products work satisfactorily on my current Windows 7? Not sure, but I know there have been some recent updates to the apps requirements that mean some quite specific configurations for Win 7. 27 minutes ago, AndyFriend said: Will my Current Plus products work under Windows 10? Yes. I have PPX9, PhPX8 and DPX5 all running well on Win 10. 28 minutes ago, AndyFriend said: Can I import my PagePlus, PhotoPlus and DrawPlus work directly into the equivalent Affinity product? The only way to be able to open files from the older range in the new range is to export from those older ones as .pdf files. Long-time user of Serif products, chiefly PagePlus and PhotoPlus, but also WebPlus, CraftArtistProfessional and DrawPlus. Delighted to be using Affinity Designer, Photo, and now Publisher, version 1 and now version 2. iPad Pro (12.9") (iOS 18.2) running Affinity Photo and Designer version 1 and all three version 2 apps.
AndyFriend Posted April 3, 2019 Author Posted April 3, 2019 Jeff, Thanks. Pleased about the first two, not so pleased about the last. Seems a bit short-sighted given that a large proportion of Affinity users will have come from Plus products. I'll stick with the Plus products for the moment but what are the benefits of the Affinity range over the Plus range? (Other than that the Plus range is now dead). Quote
