HYR Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 In version 1.6.x you could select an object and still have the alignment options available which aligns the object based on the artboard. But in 1.7 that doesn't seem to be the case. Here is version 1.6.x: Here is version 1.7.0.8:
walt.farrell Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 Have you configured the beta to show those icons via View > Customize Toolbar? As far as I know they're not on the toolbar by default, at least on Windows, and so would only be there if you'd added them. The beta version doesn't share settings with the retail version. The Alignment icon is part of the default set, though: You could click on that to get the function you want. Or you could customize the toolbar as you may have done for 1.6. Old Bruce Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 There is no "Artboard" selection but a "Spread" is the equivalent choice. I am on Mac. Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6 Affinity Designer 2.6.0 | Affinity Photo 2.6.0 | Affinity Publisher 2.6.0 | Beta versions as they appear. I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

But I don't think that has any bearing on my point above since it works in version 1.6.x but not 1.7.x. 1 hour ago, Old Bruce said: There is no "Artboard" selection but a "Spread" is the equivalent choice. Old Bruce Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 I think what we have here is/are some misunderstandings getting compounded. As Walt suggested you should be able to get the icons by going to View > Customize Toolbar. Then the image he has in his post will allow us to align objects to the Artboard, but the 'name' for Artboard is currently set to Spread in that set of improved tools. Your second image is a series of icons for arranging/distributing two or more selected objects as you only have one selected they are inoperable and greyed out. HYR Posted April 2, 2019 Author Posted April 2, 2019 That makes sense. I see what I did wrong now. Thanks!
