thomasbricker Posted April 1, 2019 Posted April 1, 2019 I cant believe Im having to ask this, but unfortunately, I am. Im trying to take a layered AP image at 300dpi and export it at 72 dpi with a reduced pixel dimension. I can not for the life of me see how I dial in the 72dpi spec. Changing the pixel dimension is easy. But where is the control of the desired dpi? I know you can change the dpi in the Document setup. But cant I make this change AS Im doing the export? What is the trick? Please advise. Thanks. Quote
firstdefence Posted April 1, 2019 Posted April 1, 2019 There is a More button on the export window for the desired export option Click on that and it reveals "more" options for export Quote iMac 27" 2019 Sequoia 15.0 (24A335), iMac 27" Affinity Designer, Photo & Publisher V1 & V2, Adobe, Inkscape, Vectorstyler, Blender, C4D, Sketchup + more... thomasbricker Posted April 1, 2019 Author Posted April 1, 2019 Yes. I am aware of the More button. Unfortunately it does not include a selectable DPI. Unless it is hidden and Im not seeing it. Quote
Fixx Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 Seems you have to set 72 dpi with Image Size command. You still have to know what pixel dimensions to set in export. Quote
R C-R Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 4 hours ago, Fixx said: Seems you have to set 72 dpi with Image Size command. Be aware that there is a bug in Affinity Photo (& Designer) that prevents this from working as intended. If you set a new DPI value in Document > Resize Document, this does not update the metadata of an existing document that already has the DPI set. The suggested workaround for this is to untick "Embed metadata" in the "More" window, but then no DPI (or other metadata) will be included in the export, so it doesn't really fix the issue. The good news is this supposedly has been fixed in the 1.7 customer betas, so when they become the release versions this should not be a problem.
