RAW processing

Recommended Posts

Well hi, I’ve got some questions about RAW processing. When I open my raw file in Affinity Photo, I can process it correctly in Persona “Develop”, but after clicking the button “develop”, all changes applying to photo and it compresses to another format, which doesn’t allow to make wide corrections without quality loss.

So, on my computer I use Capture One, and there I can work with my raw file any time. I understand that these programs are really different, but I do really need to seriously work with colors and some times apply changes to my already processed photos. And I can normally work with color only in Persona “Photo”, but when I get this possibility, image is already compressed and everything loose its meaning. So, there are some samples. One is raw, processed after opening, another is compressed(?) raw processed after clicking “develop”. And it’s unacceptable for me, that I can’t return to developing a real raw

When an image is Developed, this is a destructive process. Even though you can switch back to the Develop persona from the Photo persona the previous adjustments aren't remembered. Adding a non destructive develop layer is part of our development roadmap for Affinity Photo for desktop and this will hopefully then be ported over to the iOS version.
