Text wrapping question

As per the images below, I am trying to wrap text around a PNG, but it will only sit around the edges of the image box, not flow around the edges of the images.

Hello @gumbo23,

look on the toolbar for the icon 'Edit Wrap Outline'. See screenshot below:

I think this should also be available on the Mac.

I have been trying this - as per the screenshots - but cannot get it to work as in the Affinity tutorial.

Is there some reason why my PNGs are not accepting the text wrap?

Sorry, I did not see this in your screenshot. I just saw the 'Text Wrap' options. My fault.

I just tried again. Once I click on the picture frame and then on 'Edit Wrap Outline' it works. What I notice from your screenshot is that the picture frame is located beneath the '(Master A)' layer. I had it happen to me in the past that this kept me from selecting objects.

Does it make a difference if you move the picture frame further up in the layers hirarchy?

My guess: The PNG does not have a transparent background, and therefore the text is wrapping around the white background. At least, I've seen that with this test file I just created.

testwrap-transparency.afpub

Edit: On page 1, the PNG does not have a transparent background. On page 2, it does.

Hi @walt.farrell,

good point. With 'Edit Wrap Outline' it is possible to move the text wrap boundaries across the image, e.g. over the white areas. But it does not rely on any transparency in the PNG. Also note, @gumbo23 put the image into an image frame and according the screenshot the wrapping is targetting the image frame, not the PNG (I am not sure if that makes a difference, though).
