The eyecon to hide text overflow does not work on master page text boxes

Clicking on the "eye"con to hide/show text overflow in a text box does not work in the default master page editing mode when the text box is on a master page and you are editing it from a document page.

I can confirm that that happens here too. Place text in a Text Frame made on the page and the show/hide text overflow eye works. Place the text in a Text Frame from a Master Page and I cannot turn the show overflow off. Clicking the eye does not put a line through it and does not hide the overflow.
