puffin bird Posted March 28, 2019 Posted March 28, 2019 (edited) I hope that you can help me fix my affinity designer. I deleted it the third time and installed it for the third time again, but it isn’t working. I can't find C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Affinity\Designer\1.0\temp\ Edited March 29, 2019 by puffin bird Quote

What are you trying to do with that? - That is as default a hidden Windows directory, meaning here it's usually not directly shown in Win Explorer and similar file manager tools. Though there should be an option to make also these hidden directories visable. I presume you are at least substituting your actual Windows user name for YOURUSERNAME, but thought it would be good to confirm that. The AppData folder is hidden by default, which means you won’t usually see it if you navigate to your %UserProfile% folder where it resides, but you can keep it hidden and still visit the folder or its subfolders directly. Use the folder path %AppData%\Affinity\Designer\1.0\temp\ to go straight to the AD ‘temp’ folder. v_kyr Posted March 29, 2019 Posted March 29, 2019 @Alfred I know, though you can also use the DOS or Powershell and navigate directly to that via cd. - However, the point here is more what the problems are the OP has with that (?). I use for years TotalCommander on Win and thus I'm probably very used to the way it shows up directory structures etc. There in order to see all Win dirs you have to switch an option to also show all the usually hidden directories in panel list structures. puffin bird Posted March 29, 2019 Author Posted March 29, 2019 I am new to using affinity online and I am not a genius when using my laptop. I looked for C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Affinity\Designer\1.0\temp\ , but I can’t find. I wish anyone who is willing to show pictures which will help me to follow instructions. I hold CTRL while it is starting to clear data, but it isn’t working. Quote

Copy the line %AppData%\Affinity\Designer\1.0\temp\ to the Windows clipboard 2. Hold down the WinKey (i.e. the key with the Windows logo, to the left of the space bar) 3. Press and release the R key to display the Run dialog 4. Release the WinKey 5. Paste the copied folder path into the box in the Run dialog 6. Press OK An Explorer window will pop up, displaying the contents of the specified folder. puffin bird Posted March 29, 2019 Author Posted March 29, 2019 I followed your instructions I clicked the Winkey then R and copied your %AppData%\Affinity\Designer\1.0\temp\ to press ok when it popped up. It is still a problem. Quote

puffin bird Posted March 29, 2019 Author Posted March 29, 2019 (edited) I tried it again then it worked. Which files do I choose? Edited March 29, 2019 by puffin bird Quote

Alfred Posted March 29, 2019 Posted March 29, 2019 Delete all of the files in the ‘temp’ folder (but not the folder itself). puffin bird 1 Quote Alfred Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for Windows • Windows 10 Home/Pro Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for iPad • iPadOS 17.5.1 (iPad 7th gen)
Guest Posted March 29, 2019 Posted March 29, 2019 If you delete the folder itself, it will be recreated automatically. Quote
