snizl
So the current problem that I am having is, that I have an .svg file of a plot I created, and the way my plot got exported is with absolutely unreadable big text. The thing I want to do therefore is to resize the text in place. This is not possible by selecting multiple textboxes and rescale them, because this also changes there position on the graphic, and the spacing between them. Is there any way to select multiple textboxes and just change the text properties, like font size all at once? I am having something like 30 textboxes in a graph. Selecting each text manually to change it's properties is not a feasible option
walt.farrell
Easiest way may be to select them all in the Layers panel. Then, with the Frame Text Tool selected, any changes you make to the font or font size in the Context Toolbar should affect all of them. Alternatively you could click on one in the document itself, then shift-click on each of the others to add them to the selection. snizl 1 Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro, version 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro, version 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. iPad: iPad Pro M1, 12.9": iPadOS 17.4.1, Apple Pencil 2, Magic Keyboard Mac: 2023 M2 MacBook Air 15", 16GB memory, macOS Sonoma 14.4.
snizl
Thank you, it works. My two key problems were: I selected the artistic, instead of the frame text tool AND my text was already grouped. This does not work if one selects just the groups, they have to be individual text boxes. walt.farrell
MickRose
I'd have thought text styles were a better option. Quote Windows 10 Pro, I5 3.3G PC 16G RAM
JuBe
Is there not a way to select multiple text boxes by groups? I'm working on a map with 100+ counties, and so I alphabetized them and grouped them by letter. Now, I'm trying to select all of the groups to change the font size, but then the changes to the text toolbar do not apply. Is there not a better work around than selecting each text box (after expanding all of the groups on the Layers tab)?

Why don't you use Text Styles? This would be the common approach. Or if you dare: Install the current betas of APublisher and / or ADesigner. if you are in APu you can use the Designer Persona or in ADesigner directly use Select >> Select Object >> Select Text frame. This will select all text frames on a single page / artboard. But be warned: Betas are not for production use and once saved in 1.9x there is no way to open the document in 1.8x. JuBe
@Joachim_L After some fiddling, I ended up going to the Text Styles route — thanks! Joachim_L
