How to learn Affinity Photo more comprehensively

Recommended Posts

I just purchased Affinity Photo for Mac OS. I have watched several tutorials from Serif on Vimeo. However, the tutorials move too fast. I have 2 screens with the app opened on 1 screen and the tutorial playing on the other. It still moves too fast. Is there another way to learn this app properly? I would like to understand basic concepts like contrast, vibrance, saturation, etc. I also am unable to understand about the brushes concept. I want to start with these basic concepts and move up to how these concepts are used and applied.

You can pause the videos or move the timeline marker back to replay the same section repeatedly. I suggest starting with the Beginners Series, Introduction, & Basics sections listed here.

The built in help is also a good way to learn the basics of the UI, tools, etc. I suggest starting with the topics in the IntroductionGet Started sections, & then go to the Workspace section & working through the first 7 topics.

Further there are books about the software, which show how to use the software. Serif itself offers a workbook for Affinity Photo (actually with a 20% discount), some other third party sources (book publishers) are also offering books.

☛ Affinity Designer 1.10.8 ◆ Affinity Photo 1.10.8 ◆ Affinity Publisher 1.10.8 ◆ OSX El Capitan
☛ Affinity V2.3 apps ◆ MacOS Sonoma 14.2 ◆ iPad OS 17.2
