Stolzy
I'd like to import a bunch of presets from PS (curves/levels mainly). I don't find any instructions for thisnor for where Affinity might keep them. Anybody have a clue?

firstdefence
Which presets are you talking about see image below? Affinity can import abr brush files and styles - as long as the comparable function also exists in Affinity. Which other non adobe app/s can import a PS Preset? Stolzy
As I said in the OP, curves & levels mostly. I don't know which other apps can import PS presets. I had understood AP could - evidently I was misinformed.

Staff MEB Posted March 25, 2019 Staff Share Posted March 25, 2019 Hi Stolzy, Affinity Photo cannot import .acv/.alv files but if you save the file from Photoshop as PSD with the Curves/Levels applied to an image Affinity will open it and will retain the adjustments as live adjustments. You can then save them as presets double-clicking the thumbnail's adjustment in the Layers panel and clicking Add Preset on the top left of the adjustment dialog. To access the presets you saved go to the respective section in the Adjustments panel. Maybe I can find someone who does.

John Rostron
Many, but not all, Photoshop Actions could be replicated in Affinity Photo as macros. It will depend on the interface and whether AP offers a similar functionality to PS. If you have a specific need, perhaps you could spell it out and maybe some geek out in Affinityworld would be able to create a macro for you , or maybe explain why it cannot be done. Unless there are direct or very similar functions in Affinity Photo to those in Photoshop, as @John Rostron mentioned, it is very far from simple. For example, Affinity Photo has no scripting language so there is no way to run a PS script in AP. Adding everything needed to support a scripting language in AP would require major changes in the code. You could have tried it using the free trial, and then you'd have known. Even now, if you purchased directly from the Serif Affinity Store, they have a 14-day return policy that you could exercise.
