mcakeshop Posted March 25, 2019 Posted March 25, 2019 Hello, I am using the 10 day trail of Affinity right now and watching various tutorial videos as well as trail and error, but wondering if anyone might have a few tips for me. I have a picture which I would like to isolate a person and then turn the background black and white. Then I would like to add colored flames and/or smoke behind the isolated person. So far this is what I have been able to do: Download a .abr file flame brush from Brusheezy and add to my brushes in Affphoto Use Selection Brush tool to select the object I want to isolate. Invert the selection and then make an adjustment to black and white. This is where I start struggling. Sometimes I can get the brush to show only behind the isolated subject, but its only in black and not a realistic flame. I tried to follow XResch's tutorial, but I'm not having much luck. What steps would I need to take to add realistic color flames behind my isolated person? Quote
Staff Callum Posted March 25, 2019 Staff Posted March 25, 2019 Hi mcakeshop, Welcome to the forums You will need to cut out the guy in colour and make sure he is on his own layer separate from the background. Then you should be able to select the background layer and paint behind him using the brushes. Thanks Callum Quote Please tag me using @ in your reply so I can be sure to respond ASAP.
