Teri Frenette
I tried to select a flower with pedals. No matter how often I inverted the selection, it was never clean and precisely followed the edges of the pedals. I must be missing something. Teri Frenette
Thank you for your response. I hope I am doing this right. This is a screenshot from my struggle with my selection. I am doing it without problems in Photoshop elements. There must be an easy solution in Affinity photo on my iPad.
DM1
You could zoom in reduce brush size and use add/subtract to push/pull selection to edges. Then use the refine Selection tool. Teri Frenette
Thank you so much, it sounds like a good idea. Will try it!
Teri Frenette
Zooming in made it easier but it still took a lot of inverting in and out and refining. I wasn ‘t able to do a very accurate selection. There must be a better way. All the selection tutorials show very easy selections.

DM1
Sometimes it helps to increase contrast or even make selection on a colour channel that offers higher contrast such as red channel. Attach your original image and see if anyway can make a decent selection and can then show how it was done. Quote M1 IPad Air 10.9/256GB lpadOS 17.1.1 Apple Pencil (2nd gen).
