You have the SVG file format associated with a web browser, you can associate it with whichever app you want to have open the SVG file.

What Operating System are you using?

I am using windows 10. I used AD to create the logo and when I try to export it as SVG, it exports as an HTML document. When I try to insert the logo into my website it doesnt recognize it as a valid format. Is there a way to export as SVG in a format I can use on my website or the internet? Thank you

There is an option in the Export panel under SVG to export for web.

So when you see the file in explorer it has the internet explorer, google or Firefox icon?

Affinity does not export HTML, so in all likelihood it is an SVG file that is associated with a web browser. Can you take a screen shot of the file in windows explorer?

A file consists of a name and an extension, the extension tells you what type of file it is so an svg would look like web-graphic.svg an HTML file will be web-graphic .htm or .html

That just means that Chrome is registered as the default application for opening .svg files on your system when you double-click on them or right-click and choose "Open" or "Open with".

How are you trying to add it to your website? You would need to have some HTML file that is embedding it in order for a .svg file to be usable on your site.

I am trying to add it to my website just like a jpeg or png. Just select the picture icon, select the file to be uploaded and it loads just fine but when I select the google image SVG file it doesn't recognize the format like the jpeg or png. I guess the question is, how do you create a simple logo and upload to a website? I am new to vector based images. I uploaded  my logo as a png but it is slightly pixelized and one of my friends said it needs to be a vector. Please help

There is no "google image SVG file." It's just an ordinary SVG file that on your computer has been associated with the Google Chrome browser as the default app to open the SVG file type. On my computer it would default to opening in Affinity Designer because that is how I set the association for SVG files. In neither case does it change the file itself, just the app that would open if we double-clicked on the file.

The question is how specifically are you trying to add the logo to your website. What app or procedure, what steps you take, etc.?

Without that info there is not much anybody can do to help you with this.
