tonyt
Hi I am trying to prepare a photo to print as above. The actual available size is more like 9.5” x 7.5”. I want to be able to crop the photo using the rule of thirds, add my own frame image on a separate layer, plus signature, etc.. my starting file is a developed .orf file. I am printing onto A4 paper on a Mac using a Cannon Pixma printer. I want the finished photo to fill the mount size. I have tried everything I can think of and am getting nowhere. As you can probably guess I am a newbie to this so hope someone has the patience to help me. If needed, I can supply more info. I have searched but not found anything, as yet, that will unravel the wool over my eyes! many thanks in anticipation.... firstdefence
Hi @tonyt So you want the image to sit exactly in the Matte with a frame around the outer edge of the matte and the image up to the inner edge of the matte? How wide is the matte 1/2 inch? 13 hours ago, tonyt said: I want to be able to crop the photo using the rule of thirds You can use the crop tool to using the Overlay: Thirds Grid and crop using either absolute dimensions or a ratio if known. What is the dimension of the image you want to crop? firstdefence
Another way would be to create the document with frame and matte on their respective layers and just place the image into that document and scale to fit. You can have a layer with the thirds grid at the top that can be turned off.
