Document saved, closed. Seems to have disappeared.

Recommended Posts

Hi there. New to iOS, new to AD.

I had set up AD to default to iCloud for saves. Today I saved a project, closed the document, and went back later and it's not there. I can't seem to find it in any of the directories available from the open/import menus. It's there a temporary storage folder I can look through on the iPad? I saved using the document menu from within AD while my project was open, then I closed the document from the gallery. Any help on recovering this project is obviously greatly appreciated!

The Document menu offers the option to Save a Copy, creating a afdesign file in the location of your choosing. You need to tap 'Add' to complete the save. Keep in mind that the file you have open is not the copy you just made. If you back arrow out to Project screen you will see your original file in the Gallery. You can close this file and this deletes it from sandbox area. Now tap + sign and choose Open from Cloud. Navigate to the location you previously chose to save a copy and select your file to open it. You now have a new option in Document menu called Save. If you used Open from Cloud, edits will be saved back to the afdesign file. If you imported the file then you are back working on a sandbox copy which will be deleted when you Close the file in Gallery.
