Open office publisher (.pub) files

I am mostly software agnostic but do have preferences. I could ultimately care less whether I used Q or ID, for instance. But would choose Q over ID unless I needed a feature that Q didn't possess and ID did.

I feel the same with software that wouldn't be my first choice. I simply have no preference between them. It's not that I dislike them per se. But what I choose to use cannot be tied to "I like the company that makes the software" and has to be able to do the job at hand efficiently. That attitude/thinking is simply a revenue-driven decision.

I work with church and other non-profit organisations where the bulk of the work is done by volunteers, often with only basic computer skills, and the only app they have access to for any kind of layout work is Microsoft Publisher. There is no 'deserve' here, it's just how it is.
