ChrisP
I coud not figure out a way to edit the gradient after I applied it to a mask. Any ideas? The only work around I could figure is to duplicate the gradient shape before using to so if you don't like ti you could redo it.
Staff MEB Posted April 17, 2015 Staff Share Posted April 17, 2015 Hi Chris, I believe you used the command Layer ▹ Rasterize to Mask. Instead of a grayscale mask, use a transparency mask. Select the original ellipse object and change the opacity of the black color in the gradient editor to 100%. Then drag the ellipse shape over the thumbnail of the object you want to mask (no need to rasterise to mask). If you later decide you want to edit the mask, just click over its thumbnail in the Layers panel, go to the Fill button in the context toolbar and edit the gradient as you do for any other regular shape. Just remember that it's the opacity that controls what's visible and not the colour. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
ChrisP
Thanks MEB! Yes I did use the Layer ▹ Rasterize to Mask. The transparency mask does the trick. Thanks again!
