Wosven Posted March 13, 2019 Share Posted March 13, 2019 Hi, When opening a JPG and doing a simple operation (flip), and saving this file (ctrl+s, erasing the original file). The original JPG is 539 Ko, the same after a flip in AP or AD is 1850 Ko. The problem is the embedded profile. Can we have at least an option in this case (erasing original file) for saving the file without profile? It's a problem with pictures for the web. Wosven Posted March 28, 2019 Author Share Posted March 28, 2019 This problem is not solved with the new versions of AP and AD (.284) when cropping a JPG. When cropping a PNG (half its width), AP and AD give good results. (FSW2 = crop with FastStone viewer, same area — less white pixels than 1st crop). Hi Wosven, You can remove a profile when exporting the file through the Export dialog (clicking the More button and unticking Embed ICC Profile) re-writting the original file but it's not possible to do it directly when pressing CTRL+S. What i advise is exporting all the files to a folder (without caring about their size) then drop them all in an image optimiser app with the settings you want. They provide advanced/spcific algorithms to optimise various image formats for web but also additional options like removing metadata or the ICC profile from the files etc. There's plenty of options around. Wosven Posted March 29, 2019 Author Share Posted March 29, 2019 Thanks for the tip @MEB, but that's why I don't use AP/AD for simple tasks, and they should be able to save "in the same state" as the file opened when we don't export with specific need, but only do a ctrl+s.
