Problems Stitching A Panorama Photo

Recommended Posts

Hi

I am having problems with a panorama that I am trying to create one photo shows the panorama created in another program, the second one created in Affinity. The five separate images are the original files to create the panorama. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Rich

Your 5 individual photos have almost NO overlap. I was able to make a panorama out of them by manually placing them next to each other - certainly not the right way to do this. But to expect Affinity to create a panorama with only about 5% or less overlap just isn’t realistic. Ideally, your photos ought to have at least 20-30% overlap.

Great that explains it, thanks. These were some very early photos taken in 2010 before I realised that problem of the 20% to 30%. I was only asking as the other program (Panorama Factory) was able to accomplish it. At least it's cleared that up. Again thank you.

My pleasure. Actually, it’s mighty impressive that your other software package WAS able to create the panorama. However, given its name, my best guess is that it is super-optimized toward that one task! Maybe not a fair comparison, but that’s an impressive merge, given how little data the adjacent images share.
