HenkJ
I just started with a Nikon Z6 camera and found out that affinty does not open these files in a correct way. Only stripes are to be seen. With the Nef files taken with my former cameras I never met problems.
v_kyr
Retry with compressed NEF files, or when on an actual MacOS then with the Apple RAW engine setup for processing instead. Gnobelix
Hello HenkJ. Welcome to this forum. The Z6 is also not supported by Affinity, I think it will be the same with the Z7. As a temporary solution I would use the DNG converterHere the link to the DNG converter. terrylw64
I have a Nikon Z6 and have been told that shooting in RAW - uncompressed is the best way to go. Finding out that Affinity Pro has an issue with opening uncompressed NEF files. Can anyone tell me if the DNG converter dumps down the image to 16 bit or not. I love the idea of being able to do my photo work in 32 bit.

The Z6 RAW files are only 14 bit at best. You can still work in a 32 bit colour space though. The 14 bit files from my Pentax K5 come out of the Adobe converter with 14 bits. They're smaller, but still 14 bit! Quote AP, AD & APub user, running Win10

Zubie
Hi Henk, I think Affinity is just lagging behind until they are supplied algorithms for your camera. Nikon's Capture NX-D is the first one that gets updated and then other programmes. Hang ten, it is coming, just matter of time.
