MrPhysics
There may be a simple answer. I'm trying to use the Photo Workbook, but I'm unable to obtain the resource images, e.g. from https://affin.co/photofeatures. Can anyone help?
R C-R
The link as you posted it should not include the period at the end, but also there seems to be something wrong with the affin.co server for the correct link because currently (at least for me) it redirects to https://affinity.serif.com/en-us/photo/desktop/full-feature-list/ using the Safari, Firefox, or Chrome browsers on my Mac. It used to work fine because I have the Photos Workbook & downloaded that zipped file several months ago. The problem seems to be limited to that link, though. I just tried re-downloading the resources for Chapter 3, project one (the link is on page 140) & that one works fine. Note that due to copyright restrictions the direct links to the resources for chapter 3 & beyond should not be posted publicly, which is why I just posted the page number. Anyway, until the photo features resources link gets fixed, you can try the page 140 link & see if that works for you. @Patrick Connor @MattP @Dan C all seem to have been active in the last few hours so tagging them here should get a response from one of them pretty quickly. R C-R
@Pšenda -- can you get https://affin.co/photofeatures (same as in the first post but without the period at the end) to work for you? It is not working here -- as I said, for me it redirects to the feature list page. Are you sure you're not thinking of https://affin.co/photocoreskills ? DOH! You are absolutely correct about that. I need more coffee or something -- I was sure I copied the link from page 86 of the workbook & it redirected to the system requirements page but I must have gotten confused when I had 3 different browsers running with multiple tabs open in each one. MrPhysics
Thanks to you all, for your prompt replies. Unfortunately none of them worked, but they stimulated me to try something else. I typed the affin.co link into my Samsung Galaxy Tablet, and the Mam Tor zipfile came down. The tablet said it couldn't handle zip files, but I successfully copied the download to my Samsung laptop, Windows 10, and I was able to open them. I can't understand what went wrong, but I'm very happy to have found a way of getting the resources. It takes only a couple of minutes. Many thanks again. At least I now also know how to use this excellent Forum.
Dan C
Glad this has been sorted, thanks for letting me know R C-R I've tested a few links using Chrome and Firefox at my home PC and all links downloaded correctly, so it must be a local issue with your setup MrPhysics, but I am glad to hear you have a workaround for this!
