Strange halo when exporting

Recommended Posts

Hi,

when exporting an image I made I get some strange artifacts. Relevant section here:

That's 16bpp image exported to 8bpp png, different methods of resizing.
Exported with bicubic:

Exported with Lanczos sep:

Exported with Lanczos non-sep:

Can provide you with the image if need be.

Is the halo still present when you turn off the High Pass Live Filter Layer? If it is, would you mind sending me the document, not just the image?

Hi, sorry, I was at work and missed that link.

I tested w/o High Pass and you can still see the halo on that layer in export.

I vaguely remember that similar issue was visible in another image I had a long time ago.

File uploaded, it for this here, and this linked bug report:

Hey TEcHNOpls,

Unfortunately not, no. If I zoom in on the same area I can't see anything like what is pictured in your screenshot :( Do you know which layer it is on?

This is a screenshot with all layers on (apart from the top Curves Adjustment):

@Chris B: Try exporting that image, esp. with Lanczos non-separate. The issue should be visible then. Also scale down (in my example, it's 2048px on longer edge) and into png file.

Edit: attached file has my export preset in it (in export persona), as I cannot send you the preset itself (no export/save option).

Still present in .414. When exporting an image with many pixel layers I can get halos where one layer covers the other.

Notice all the white halos, these are the spots I 'fixed' with one of the healing tools. (Exported image, 400% zoom)
