Hi,

i usually open about 20 files at once and always wonder of the weird order after opening either in tabs view or modular view.

My files are named like project01, project02, project03 and so on and i would be really helpful when they would be ordered the same way in affinity photo.

But after opening the are ordered like project11, project08, project03 and so on. I cannot see any system or logic in how they are ordered.

See enclosed pic

thanks in advance

This issue was discussed briefly in this topic. As @Old Bruce mentioned, as it is now the tab order is determined by the OS, not the app.

It's complicated but basically a file can't be opened until the OS locates it in the file system, checks its access privileges, & sends enough of its data to the app for the app to be able to work with it. Since that can take longer for some files than others, the order is determined by that, not file names or other any other sorting criteria.
