You should be able to control opacity with pressure in the brush settings, maybe try Accumulation.

Thanks. I was hoping to control the opacity control that appears on the brush context toolbar.

I'm not familiar with the various artistic brushes yet but as far as I can see only the various forms of jitter can be associated with pressure - probably not what I'm looking for while masking :).
