Thanks for arrowheads but...

Recommended Posts

...could them be a bit larger? When I set max scale (500%), on A4 300 dpi and line 0,2 pt arrowheads are too small. I often make technical diagrams with thin dimension lines and arrows, and for example in Corel Draw I can set bigger arrows. So far, I have made such drawings in Affinity with the help of arrow assets (constraint groups), but the option with the ends of the line is much more convenient.

Did you try to change the stroke size?

Yesssss. Finally. Thanks A-Team for the arrows and multiple strokes and fills. They are really great. Only one thing I couldn't find out. I can't add multiple fills and strokes to the artistic text. Is it possible at this moment and how?

Having only just now downloaded the .256 Beta, I won't have opportunity to play with it until this evening. But just based on what I see in user screenshots:

Scale of path ends (arrowheads) should be independent of stroke weight. The importance of this should be obvious if or when support for user defined path ends is provided (hopefully incorporated with Symbols).

Position of path ends should be infinitely adjustable (i.e., not just limited to inboard and outboard of the end nodes).  Very common example is needing a ball end to be centered on the path ( with snapping) or object it is referencing in a callout.

It looks like Windows is limited to 500% scale. On macOS it is seemingly unlimited. Would it help if it was extended?

Yes, please. 500% may not be enough for certain applications. Anyway, thanks a lot for adding such a popular feature.

Not meaning to "pile on," but trusting that the driving goal of Affinity development is to advance beyond standard-fare, rather than merely mimic it in "me, too" fashion:

Path ends and Symbols (and vector brushes and any and all other features which source a preexisting vector graphic from any kind of library) should all be accompanied by a user-choice toggle controlling whether scaling the source art element also scales its as-created stroke weights.

Just another golden opportunity which I hope will not be overlooked to rise above the inconsistency of Adobe Illustrator and other long-in-the-tooth programs.

You can do a workaround.

Add 2 stroke Appearances. One for thin line and one for arrowheads that has thicker line. Add dashes tho thicker line.

This way you can color the heads in different color if you need.

This is a useful way, but only if you have to use several lines because it is time-consuming. I do a lot of technical drawings for the client and I use a lot of various lines with arrows in them. With a large number of such lines, it is easier to use previously prepared assets. At the moment it would be possible to easily zoom the arrowhead to any scale - it would greatly speed up my work on the diagram.

Maybe add it to style and its done only once. Just a thought.
