MAR
I am just starting to write macros and want to know if it is possible to add a new fill layer as a child layer during recording. I have made a signature brush and want to be able to change the colour the writing but if I try to add new fill layer and then move it I am told it is not possible. I am sure I have seen a video showing me how to do this by manipulating the position of the layers but can no longer find it. I am using windows 10. Thanks for any help out there
carl123
Dragging layers with the mouse wont work in macros but you can use/record the menu commands, such as... Arrange > Move Back One Arrange > Move to Back Edit: Just reread you post, if you want the fill layer as a child of the brush layer Edit > Cut the fill layer, select the brush layer then Edit > Paste Inside Edited March 6, 2019 by carl123 Added info Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. Staff MEB Posted March 6, 2019 Staff Share Posted March 6, 2019 Hi MAR, Welcome to Affinity Forums In the latest Affinity Photo Customer Beta there's new commands in the Arrange menu to let you Move Inside and Move Outside of a layer which will do what you want. If you are willing to give it a try you can download it from the respective section ind the Affinity Photo Beta Forums (usually pinned at the top of the respective platform section). v_kyr
Or alternatively, if you want the fill layer as a child of the brush layer, check Arrange > Insert inside, select the brush layer then Layer > New Fill layer.
