gludie Posted March 4, 2019 Posted March 4, 2019 Hi, I imported a 16mb PDF to adjust some logos and fix some text. The pdf have 87 pages and affinitiy designer is doing well so far, but when it comes to export and save it "back" to PDF big surprise. The export files varies depending on the quality from 54 to 132mb !? I checked several options to compress images dpi and so, but no chance to come back to at least 20mb ... of course I can reduce quality to screen size, but the images are getting then very bad . Do somebody have some recommended settings or workarounds ? best regards Quote
gludie Posted March 5, 2019 Author Posted March 5, 2019 I may found the problem or some root causes: 1) Document setup - rgb/16 -> rgb/8 2) export - rasterize nothing or unknown only - between these two options are also big differences of course, even the output do not differ that much - of course jpg quality : hint to affinity devpros: would be nice to have more options here (like imagemagick provides gauss blur, etc.) - set to 70 from 80 half the size of my productfolder - rgb color palette remarks: the option rasterize nothing may cut some layers over layer masks with gradient opacity (e.g. bottom layer is image, top layer a rectangle with opacity gradient fill ) ... of course I may change the overlay of image, but this would mean to change the whole document (87 pages) with a lot of grouped layers to come to the same effect kr gludie Quote
gludie Posted March 5, 2019 Author Posted March 5, 2019 aja: by rasterize nothing and dpi 300 and rgb/8 and quality 70 : filesize 12mb raster unknown: 48mb raster all: 132mb kr Quote
