Paul Spence
I receive this message each time I try to load Affinity Photo, however when I click on a photo which has been saved as an Affinity Photo file, the program opens succesfully. ( I'm using Windows 7) Can anyone tell me why?
Staff stokerg Posted March 4, 2019 Staff Share Posted March 4, 2019 Hi Paul Spence and Welcome to the Forums, Couple of things for you to try: 1st, right click on the shortcut for Affinity and select Properties. Then on the Compatibility tab make sure none of those are enabled, i doubt they will be but always worth checking, if they are enabled untick them and try starting Affinity. If none of the compatibility options are selected, i'd suggest a reset of the program by Launch the app with ⌃(ctrl) held down until a Clear User Data dialog appears. Press the Select All button then press the Clear button. Note this will reset everything to app defaults - user preferences, palettes, macros, everything. Once you've done that, Affinity should continue to start up as normal.
Paul Spence
None of the compatibility tabs were enabled. I tried your 2nd suggestion, but no luck with that either. The Affinity Photo initial screen appears but the windows error message sits on top and when I close that everything closes down. I have tried Photo version 1.6.5. and the beta version 1.7.0.
