Or you can use the Pie or Donut Shape Tool to create arcs and duplicate and rotate those arc's.

  1. To make an arc drag out a shape with the Pie Tool make sure it is centred in the document.
  2. Change to the Node Tool and select the nodes of the Pie shape
  3. Select Break Curve from the context menu just above the workspace
  4. Keep the arc curve and delete the line curves.
  5. Select the arc and adjust the stroke width with rounded ends and set the fill to none
  6. move the centre rotation point to the centre of the document (having snapping on helps here)
  7. now duplicate and rotate, change the colour and repeat.

You can make different length arcs prior and select them when you need shorter to longer arcs, then you just have to be patient and put some music on and get into a rhythm. Once you have a full circle you can group, dup, and scale for the next line and rotate to mix it up a bit
