Nevett Posted March 3, 2019 Share Posted March 3, 2019 When I open Affinity Photo Pro on my iMac os Mojave 10.14.2 I get a warning that the software will not work with future versions of the operating system. Current is 1.6.7 Quote Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.4 Affinity Designer 2.4.1 | Affinity Photo 2.4.1 | Affinity Publisher 2.4.1 | Beta versions as they appear. Nevett Posted March 4, 2019 Author Share Posted March 4, 2019 I can't seem to replicate the message and from what I am reading here: https://www.computerworld.com/article/3268645/what-is-the-not-optimized-for-your-mac-warning-message.html the messager appears once only when you launce a 32bit app. The message was a bit more than this though as it stated that the app would not work with future upgrades of ios. Second, all versions of the Affinity software are 64 bit apps, so there is no reason you should be getting a 'not optimized' warning. To verify that Affinity Photo is being recognized as a 64 bit app, follow the instructions in the last section of this Apple article, titled "How do I check if an app is 32-bit or 64-bit?" To my knowledge the "not optimized for this Mac..." message refers to the fact that the application is not native 64 bit but relying on OS 10.14 and earlierOS code that supports sections of 32 bit code in a 64 bit environment.
