NEF import not working!

Recommended Posts

I've just tried to import my RAW NEF files from a nikon Z6 and they do not work. It corrupts the file or doesn't understand it. They work fine in the nikon image viewer software. Please tell me I haven't wasted my money getting Affinity Photo. It's crazy if it actually cannot understand these files.

Hi rizzlewizzle,
Welcome to Affinity Forums :)
The NEF files from the Nikon Z6 are loading correctly for me. Do you mind uploading two samples that are failing for you using this link please?

After further testing it appears that it’s only the uncompressed NEFs that corrupt on import. I can import the Z6 files if they are lossless compressed but it would be better if we could import uncompressed. Do you still want the files?

I don't know if this is related but after developing the lossless RAW files, if I click on the tone mapping, it takes about 30 seconds to load every time. I have a GTX 1080TI and I7 6700K so they shouldn't be the problem.

I'd be interested to know your thoughts on the latest customer beta, as we've done a lot of work on performance in the 1.7 patch.
