ZenMasta Posted February 27, 2019 Posted February 27, 2019 I am wondering if there is a links panel that shows you a list of all images, as in AI where you can choose one and then relink/replace it? I do a lot of repetitive designs where all I do is swap out the image. When I searched the forums here, the closest thing I found was a request for Publisher beta, to add a links panel. How do you replace images in AD?
walt.farrell Posted February 27, 2019 Posted February 27, 2019 Look through your document to find the image you want to replace, then click on it with the Move Tool to select it. You should see a "Replace Image" button on the Context Toolbar. tombro, ZenMasta and Andreas1974 1 2 -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop 1: Windows 11 Pro 24H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. ZenMasta Posted February 27, 2019 Author Posted February 27, 2019 Thanks. It was right in front of my face the whole time. I'm not used to the context menubar compared to AI. I did try finding this on my own via Help>Help... but when you search for replace or replace image. This was not in any of the results of the help documentation.
iProVid Posted November 27, 2021 Posted November 27, 2021 Thank you for this! I have about 60 replacements to make in a project. The good thing about this technique is that any masking, resizing, drop shadows etc will be kept from the old image and carries over to the new one. This saves loads of time! It would be nice if there was a batch facility where you could replace all of one image with a new one, AND have those replacements take on the previous tweaks and fx. For replacing logos this would save hours.
